We are recruiting an Appointment-Taking Director / Licensed Insolvency Practitioner for a well-established and highly successful insolvency and restructuring firm with offices across major UK cities, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Milton Keynes, and Leeds. Whether your experience lies in commercial insolvency or personal insolvency and IVAs, there is scope to build a team around your specialism and drive growth in your area of expertise. The firm is led by a hands-on senior team who are involved in all aspects of the business while still giving their directors autonomy to deliver results in their own way. With ambitious growth plans in place, the firm is seeking a work-winning Appointment-Taking Director / Licensed Insolvency Practitioner to join their senior leadership team in Manchester City Centre, just a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria train stations. The Opportunity for the Appointment-Taking Director: This is the perfect role for a commercially astute and entrepreneurial insolvency practitioner who thrives in a dynamic environment. You ll lead complex insolvency and restructuring cases, win new business, and shape the future direction of the team and office. What the Appointment-Taking Director will be involved in:
  • Managing a portfolio of insolvency cases (corporate and/or personal), offering strategic advice in solvent, distressed, and insolvent situations.
  • Acting as a licensed insolvency practitioner, ensuring best practice and full regulatory compliance.
  • Building a strong network of referral partners, intermediaries, and introducers to secure new cases and opportunities.
  • Opportunity to build, develop and lead your own team, tailored to your area of insolvency specialism.
  • Playing a key role in firm-wide strategy and identifying new service offerings or market segments.
  • Maintaining high-quality standards, compliance and exceptional client service throughout all assignments.
To be successful as the Appointment-Taking Director, you will need the following:
  • Extensive experience in either corporate insolvency or personal insolvency (or both).
  • JIEB-qualified and licensed as an appointment-taking insolvency practitioner.
  • ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualification preferred.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and building long-term client relationships.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and grow a team.
  • Commercially minded, ambitious, and results-driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The package on offer for the Appointment-Taking Director includes:
  • Salaries from £80,000 to £180,000, depending on experience and annual billings.
  • Uncapped earning potential, with bonus and commission structures tailored to performance.
