Assembly Team Leader

  • 15.50 per hour

We are working with a long-standing client of ours based in Wythenshawe who are experts in the aviation industry who are looking for an Assembly Supervisor.

The Job

  • Lead the Assembly team to achieve manufacturing targets and co-ordinate Production Control/performance data, monitoring and reporting requirements.
  • Plan and control production of components/assemblies.
  • Allocate staff and equipment resources to meet demand, maximising efficiencies and minimising cost; delegating as appropriate to team members.
  • Attend daily and weekly manufacturing meetings and briefings; to input and progress issues.
  • Carry out daily/weekly section team briefings and foster team engagement/feedback.
  • Be highly proficient in use of the company ERP system.
  • Ensure accurate job time-booking.
  • In conjunction with Manufacturing Unit Manager, implement and record competency training matrices/databases and individual training/development plans for all Assembly staff.

  • Monitor staff output performance, measured against set targets, for all operations; and review skills, competencies and knowledge.
  • Highlight any deficiencies/gaps to senior Managers; and agree plan to improve/train individual as required.

About you

  • Proven skills in leading people
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality.
  • Be proficient in use of ERP systems
  • Familiar with a Workshop/Assembly environment
  • Experience of using hand and power tools
  • Have a high degree of attention to detail and a desire for high quality output
  • Ability to learn new practical skills
  • Ability to work in a multi skilled manufacturing environment
  • Capable of reading and understanding Standard Measuring Equipment SME.
  • Familiar with material traceability and equipment calibration requirements
