A leading client in the Rail Industry is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to work on a permanent basis at their site in Manchester. The Electrical Engineer will provide high quality engineering solutions to the organisation through engineering knowledge to support the business in ensuring Electrical assets (HV Traction Power & LV Distribution) are safe, reliable, available and are maintained within industry and engineering best practice and standards. Duties include: - Act as a subject matter expert for HV Traction Power and LV Distribution engineering and maintenance. - Drive the development and implementation of systemic, lasting and positive engineering change focussed on electrical distribution asset reliability and maintenance efficiency - applying Reliability Centred Maintenance principles. - Review and improvement of E&M maintenance regime and development of Manuals, Technical Maintenance Specifications, Annual Maintenance Plan, Maintenance Task Instructions, Corrective Technical Specifications, Forms, etc. - Developing tools and procedures enabling the implementation of reliability and risk based maintenance. - Development and review of electrical safe systems of work. - Undertake investigations into technical and safety incidents, establishing root causes and making recommendations. - Technical audit of E&M Maintenance Activities and undertaking safety audits across disciplines - Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team through ensuring objectives, standards and key performance indicators are met. - Support the delivery of projects to deliver maintenance activities and asset renewal/enhancement. - Development of renewals and enhancements proposals in partnership with TfGM Asset Engineers Knowledge and Experience - Degree level Electrical Engineering or relevant experience - Knowledge of high voltage electrical infrastructure - Knowledge of overhead line traction power distribution systems - Knowledge of regulatory framework for electrical infrastructure - Knowledge of regulatory framework for rail and light rail. - Experience of railway environment and working practices - Experience of working within a large complex engineering organisation - Experience of use of remote infrastructure measurement systems. - Experience of using a Computerised Maintenance Management System for the organisation of works - Experience of client facing roles - Experience of supplier and contractor management - Experience of implementing change - Production of high voltage switching programs - Investigation of asset failures and analysis of root causes - Investigation of safety incidents and analysis of root causes - Design and production of maintenance documentation e.g. task instructions, forms, specifications - Production of engineering documentation e.g. reports, proposals, change requests, concessions to standards - Production of safety documentation e.g. method statements, risk assessments, possession plans. - Assessment of asset condition and remaining life - Audit and monitoring of maintenance activities
