About the RoleAre you looking to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare construction industry? We are seeking a talented Estimating Manager to oversee and coordinate the estimating team, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality proposals for healthcare-related projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and improving tools used by the estimating team to enhance accuracy and efficiency in proposal creation.
  • Managing team resources and overseeing the scheduling of estimating activities.
  • Conducting weekly reviews of the sales pipeline to plan, schedule, and prioritise team workload.
  • Establishing reporting processes to track project progress, accessible to both sales and operational teams.
  • Conducting site visits and surveys to support sales and project delivery teams as required.
  • Overseeing bid opportunities, including the completion of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) within set deadlines.

Qualifications and SkillsTo be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A strong understanding of construction, particularly within healthcare projects (desirable).
  • Experience in managing teams and allocating resources effectively.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage project budgets.
  • Strong IT skills to support estimating and reporting processes.

Ideal Candidate ProfileYou should apply if you have:

  • Experience compiling and submitting tender responses for public and private sector clients.
  • The ability to engage with supply chain partners to obtain pricing and quality information for bids.
  • Strong reporting skills, providing regular updates to sales and operations teams on project progress.
  • The ability to review incoming Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and tender enquiries from various sources.
  • Experience in budget generation and cost control for projects.
  • Strong organisational skills to prioritise, schedule, and allocate resources effectively.
  • A proactive approach to refining and improving estimating processes.
  • Experience in managing bid reviews and project review schedules.
