As a company, they prioritise the wellbeing of their employees, invest in their growth, and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.Your new role Working within a team of fitters responsible for the assembly process of armoured military vehicles, adhering to the company's procedures and specific Health and Safety guidelines. The role currently involves day shifts with plenty of overtime available.Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure personal and colleague safety by complying with regulatory safety requirements.
- Final assembly of armoured wheeled vehicles and sub-assemblies.
- Problem-solving, fault-finding, and rectification work.
- Interpret drawings and standard operating instructions.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, propose actions, and rectify issues.
- Use diagnostic software systems for initial software installation and issue diagnosis/repair.
- Order necessary parts and equipment to fulfil job requirements.
- Collaborate across departments as requested by Line Management, assisting with their workload when necessary.
- Complete all documentation and attest work within the MRP system (SAP).
- Participate in training to enhance competence, which may involve occasional off-site travel, including overseas.
- 5+ years' experience as an HGV Mechanic/Fitter
- A Level-3 NVQ or C&G
- Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- Availability for overseas training in Germany (1-6 months with all expenses paid)
- Vehicle assembly or maintenance experience.
- Understanding of technical documents.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of production processes and procedures.
- Understanding of quality, safety, and environmental systems and processes.
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations.
- Planning and organisation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
