Job Title: Missile Mechanical Architect

Location: Hertfordshire

Salary: Up to 60,000 (depending on experience)

Security Clearance: Up to SC level

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Missile Mechanical Architect?

  • Analysing the overall product structure, mechanical interfaces, and architecture
  • Conducting architectural trade-offs in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Promoting adherence to key design principles such as modularity, reusability, and design for assembly
  • Assessing technology maturity and design complexity at the missile level
  • Defining hardware requirements at the missile level
  • Providing support during product design and program phase gate reviews
  • Managing technical relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Tracking and managing assigned budgets effectively

What are we looking for in our next Missile Mechanical Architect?

  • Ideally educated to degree level, or equivalent experience
  • Experience of electro-mechanical & mechanical design
  • Experience developing proving logic and leading the generation of compliance evidence
  • Dedication to work towards delivery timelines and budgets
  • We are also interested in a good awareness of broader engineering fields, such as Materials, Tolerancing, Configuration Control, Vibration, Shock, Fatigue, Six Sigma & Lean Design, Systems Engineering V-model, DFMEA
