Our client, a global manufacturer behind some of the most recognisable household brands, is currently looking to add a PPM Engineer to their team. Job details:
- Operate within safe systems of work, including issuing permits to work, applying isolation procedures, and completing risk assessments. Participate actively in safety walks and improvements.
- Complete planned reliability maintenance tasks and inspections to a high standard. Carry out reactive maintenance and fault-finding to minimise production downtime, applying effective temporary fixes where needed.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean maintenance initiatives, contributing to and leading projects where appropriate.
- Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan work, manage spare parts, and accurately record all maintenance activities, findings, and follow-up actions.
- Communicate clearly across teams, management, shifts, and departments such as Production, Quality, and H&S to ensure minimal disruption to output.
- Collaborate with third-party contractors for repairs, maintenance, and new equipment installations, including commissioning.
- Produce and update technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and risk assessments.
- Support TPM initiatives and improve team ways of working internally and externally.
- Fulfil responsibilities under the Emergency Evacuation Plan as part of the Engineering Investigation Team.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience with high-volume automated production machinery, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Time-served apprenticeship or HNC/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience within a fast-paced FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical or mechanical fault-finding skills in a multi-skilled maintenance role.
- Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
