Salary: Up to £38,000 + bonus Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am 4:30pm (36 hours per week)

We are seeking a Quality Engineer with experience in special processes and a strong understanding of aerospace compliance. You ll be part of a collaborative quality team supporting sheet metal and assembly production for an expanding portfolio of clients.

The Opportunity This role focuses on the oversight and continuous improvement of soft metal heat treatment and testing processes. You ll be responsible for maintaining NADCAP compliance, preparing for and hosting client and third-party audits, and leading process audits and improvement actions. You ll also work closely with calibration and testing service providers to ensure all equipment meets relevant standards.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you ll be a technical point of contact for both internal teams and external partners. You ll contribute to internal training, collaborate with quality teams across other business units, and may occasionally step up to provide senior leadership reports or updates in the Quality Manager s absence.

Key Requirements

  • Expertise in soft metal heat treatment and testing processes
  • Experience preparing for or hosting NADCAP and customer audits
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) in aerospace or automotive
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and teamworking skills
  • Proactive, motivated, and confident in customer-facing settings
  • Familiar with internal auditing, lean methodologies or six sigma principles
  • IT proficiency including Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and Microsoft Project
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced S38 Clerk of Works to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area. This opportunity is outside IR35. The main duties of the S38 Clerk of Works are: Oversee the full lifecycle of S38 agreements from initial planning applications through technical approval, site inspections, and final adoption. Assess and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and construction details submitted by developers. Regularly visit development sites to monitor construction works and ensure compliance with approved designs and standards. Act as the key point of contact between the local authority, developers, consultants, utility providers, and legal teams. Ensure that all works comply with current highway design standards (e.g. DMRB, Manual for Streets), local guidance, and health & safety regulations. Maintain accurate records, including site reports, technical approvals, correspondence, and legal documents. Contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures, and technical standards related to highways adoption. Monitor and manage performance bonds, commuted sums, and developer contributions where applicable.
