Key Responsibilities - Plan, prepare, and execute the commissioning of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and safety systems at client sites. - Verify system functionality against design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. - Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control, and integration issues during installation and commissioning. - Provide technical support and training to clients during handover and initial operation. - Collaborate with engineering teams to feedback findings, suggest improvements, and assist with system upgrades or modifications. - Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Prepare accurate commissioning documentation, test reports, and operational manuals. Required Skills & Experience - Proven experience in a commissioning, automation, or control systems engineering role. - Strong understanding of PLC and HMI systems - Familiarity with instrumentation, field devices, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP). - Experience working with safety-related control systems is highly desirable. - Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills in live environments. - Good communication skills and the ability to represent the company on client sites. - Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites across the UK and internationally (as required). Desirable Qualifications - HND, HNC, or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or a related discipline. - Knowledge of functional safety standards (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511) is an advantage. - ECS/CSCS certification or equivalent site safety training.
