Our client, a distinguished consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Technical Director - Rail to join their team in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical design and delivery of multiple concurrent projects
- Undertaking the role of Rail Discipline Manager or Rail Discipline Director
- Day-to-day management, direction, and training of staff
- Acting as a role model for others in the company
- Developing relationships with new and existing clients and identifying potential work
- Preparing fee budgets, proposals, and resource requirements for projects
- Co-ordinating with other engineers across regional offices and technical groups
- Managing the preparation of calculations, drawings, and other documents
- Managing and liaising with clients on proposals and project work
- Specifying and/or managing site examination and investigation works safely and effectively
- Identifying and managing risks to acceptable levels
- Extensive experience in multidisciplinary rail technical design delivery
- In-depth knowledge of Network Rail standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong team leadership abilities
- Commitment to developing the technical skills of junior staff
- Experience leading contractor frameworks in the rail sector
- Broad relationships with key Network Rail stakeholders
- Chartered Engineer with ICE or CIHT
- Extensive experience, ideally between 15-20 years, in the rail sector
