About the Role:

We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven Business Development Manager to join our rapidly growing commercial solar PV division. This is a field-based sales role, focusing on converting pre-booked warm leads into signed contracts for commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) installations.

As the face of the company on the road, you ll visit businesses across your designated region, build strong client relationships, and guide potential customers through the benefits and ROI of solar energy. All leads are qualified and pre-booked by our internal lead generation team, allowing you to focus solely on consultative selling and closing deals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend scheduled meetings with warm, pre-qualified commercial prospects (no cold calling).

  • Conduct on-site consultations, including site assessments and initial technical discussions.

  • Present compelling business cases for solar PV systems tailored to each client s needs.

  • Build strong client relationships and trust through expert knowledge and consultative selling.

  • Collaborate with the technical and design teams to ensure smooth handover from sale to installation.

  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.

  • Keep CRM and reporting systems up to date with accurate client and pipeline information.

  • Provide feedback to marketing and lead generation teams to optimise lead quality.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven B2B sales experience ideally in field-based or consultative roles.

  • Strong understanding of commercial solar PV, renewables, or technical energy solutions (or willingness to learn quickly).

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated with a high degree of autonomy and initiative.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within a defined area.

Desirable:

  • Experience selling commercial solar, renewable energy, or HVAC solutions.

  • Knowledge of energy savings, ROI calculations, and sustainability benefits.

  • Existing network within commercial property, manufacturing, agriculture, or logistics sectors.
