An established and growing claimant law firm is seeking a Costs Team Leader to join its Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced costs professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and ambitious legal practice.

The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for the recovery of legal costs, ensuring high levels of performance, compliance and client service. You will work closely with senior management to drive efficiency, maximise recoveries and support the continued growth of the department.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervising and developing a team of costs professionals.
  • Managing complex costs matters and escalated cases.
  • Overseeing billing, negotiations and costs recovery processes.
  • Monitoring team performance and KPI achievement.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
  • Assisting with training, mentoring and recruitment activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within legal costs.
  • Experience supervising or managing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of costs recovery processes and procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive and commercial approach to problem-solving.
