Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer

Rate: 32PH to 35PH Umbrella

Location: Bolton

Duration: 12-months (likely to be extended)

About the Role

As the Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer, you will be responsible for driving process improvements and optimising the company's supply chain operations. Your primary duties will include:

• Facilitating and running Continuous Improvement (CI) plans to implement corrective and preventative actions
• Supporting root cause analysis for externally supplied products and reducing defective issues within the stores area
• Implementing process controls and process capability based on critical stores and logistics processes
• Facilitating Problem-Solving Sessions (PPS) for root cause analysis within the manufacturing and logistics facilities
• Leading improvement activities and applying Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies

What We're Looking For

The ideal Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer candidate will have:

• A further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject
• Strong manufacturing and warehousing background (preferred but not essential)
• Understanding of MRP and Just-in-Time principles, preferably in a stores environment
• Experience working in or supporting operations in a fast-paced production environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in the use and understanding of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques
• Experience in leading practical problem-solving exercises with multi-functional teams
• Ability to produce, maintain, and interpret data using a structured approach
