STS Aviation Services is hiring a Health & Safety Officer in Manchester, United Kingdom. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Head of Safety Management. In this role, you will help shape the future of our health and safety programs while supporting operations at one of the UK's most exciting aviation hubs.Please note: Only applicants who are UK citizens or those holding valid UK work authorization with at least two years remaining on their visa will be considered.Responsibilities
- Support and advise STS Aviation Services UK Ltd. on Health and Safety at all UK locations
- Monitor and improve health and safety standards, communications, systems, and training
- Promote a workplace culture that prioritizes safety and reduces health risks
- Work with HSE Managers to ensure compliance with UK statutory safety and welfare regulations
- Assist Managers with regular reviews of risk assessments for all operations and equipment
- Document, investigate, and support the implementation of improvements following workplace incidents
- Ensure proper execution of safety inspections, fire drills, and lone working protocols
- Help deliver updated health and safety policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate safety records and training documentation
- Stay current with UK legislation related to health, safety, and welfare and communicate updates internally
- Participate in monthly safety meetings to report on HSE metrics and updates
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of professionalism and discretion
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving work environment
- Collaborative, with a focus on process improvement and team success
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, interpret, and report on HSE data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
