Overview: We are partnering with a leading company in the food production sector to find a highly skilled and dedicated Hygiene Manager to join their team based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team in an environment that prioritizes high standards of cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hygiene management, especially within food or manufacturing environments, and be eager to contribute to maintaining the highest quality standards.

Role Summary: The Hygiene Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of hygiene within the facility, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and internal standards. This role is pivotal in ensuring a clean, safe, and compliant working environment, aligning with both regulatory requirements and company policies. The Hygiene Manager will lead a team, develop hygiene protocols, and ensure effective implementation across all production areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain hygiene protocols to ensure the facility meets all cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Manage and lead a team of hygiene operatives, ensuring efficient and effective work practices.
  • Oversee daily cleaning schedules and ensure all equipment, production lines, and storage areas are hygienically maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards (e.g., HACCP), and industry-specific guidelines.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections to assess hygiene standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Train and develop the hygiene team to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest hygiene practices and health & safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Assurance and Operations, to resolve any hygiene-related issues.
  • Review and report hygiene performance metrics to senior management, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
  • Stay current on industry trends, hygiene technologies, and best practices to continuously improve processes and standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Hygiene Manager, ideally within a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, etc.) and hygiene management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant qualifications in food safety or hygiene management (e.g., Level 3 HACCP, COSHH).

The Candidate

The successful Hygiene Manager will:

  • Have CIP experience.
  • Have lead a team in a hygiene management position.
  • Have food manufacturing experience.
  • Have an understanding of microbiology and listeria rick.
