Our client, a manufacturer, are looking to appoint a Production Supervisor to work in their busy production factory. Working with a team of around 20 the successful Production Supervisor will be capable of being hands on (it will often be necessary to "muck in" and help on the production line), have an excellent understanding of 5s, and have worked within a manufacturing environment previously. This role would also suit someone who has worked as a Shift Supervisor or Production Team Leader. You need to be hardworking, experienced within an skilled-operative factory environment, and have good communication skills to lead a team. Responsible for meeting daily KPI's and production targets the successful Production Supervisor / Foreman needs to have worked in a time sensitive, lean focused, skilled-operative environment Although the majority of staff are permanent at peak times your team may be strengthened with the addition of contract / agency staff. It would be beneficial if the Production Supervisor / Foreman for this role had previous experience of managing temporary staff with the issues this can bring up. You will be a hardworking and have a "lead from the front" approach to the shift you are managing. Previous work experience in a lean manufacturing environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of continuous improvement. Applications are particularly encouraged by candidates from an FMCG background with a skilled or semi-skilled workforce. Joinery, woodworking or carpentry would be best but other skilled environments (automotive, electronics, medical devices, plastics) would be helpful.
