Astute's Technical Sales team is exclusively partnered with a market-leading manufacturer of innovative cable and pipe sealing solutions, trusted across sectors such as marine, offshore wind, oil & gas, construction, and industrial automation. Their products are relied upon by engineers, operators, and contractors worldwide to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performance installations. We are currently recruiting an Internal Sales Representative to support the company's continued growth across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a world-class engineering business, providing a pathway into a Technical Sales Manager role within two years. This role offers a dynamic mix of sales development, customer relationship management, and technical support; ideal for a motivated individual looking to transition from a hands-on or internal sales role into a full technical sales position. Responsibilities and duties: As the Internal Sales Representative, you will:
  • Focus on new business development, working with both new and existing customers across key market sectors.
  • Engage with a diverse customer base - from project owners and design engineers to contractors and installers.
  • Identify and qualify new project opportunities, promoting innovative solutions and developing engineering specifications.
  • Deliver online training sessions and technical support to customers, ensuring best practice installation and long-term satisfaction.
  • Support external sales managers with project follow-up, installation guidance, and client relationship management.
  • Attend industry exhibitions, conferences, and networking events to represent the business and uncover new opportunities.
  • Use the company CRM system to manage customer interactions, forecast sales, and provide meaningful market feedback.
  • Provide pre-sales technical advice, contributing to design input for bespoke or custom product solutions where required.
  • Organise and deliver lunch & learn and CPD sessions for engineering and design clients to promote the company's value proposition.
Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Previous sales experience, ideally in an internal or phone-based sales role.
  • A proven ability to build rapport and convert customer interactions into tangible business opportunities.
  • Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following sectors: commercial marine, offshore wind, oil & gas, construction, or industrial systems.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, or automation systems (advantageous but not essential).
  • A desire to progress into a technical or external sales position.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and managing structured sales processes.
  • A degree or equivalent experience - applicants with relevant industry knowledge are encouraged to apply.

  • Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage technical stakeholders over the phone and online.

  • Enjoys learning technical products and delivering practical solutions to customer challenges.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to travel occasionally for meetings or events.
