About The Role
Operating from a home office you will cover the Northern territory and be responsible for:
- Managing and growing new (70%) and existing business (30%).
- Cultivating a current account base of (Apply online only) accounts
- Proactively developing sales opportunities within areas such as machine builders, factory automation, production machinery, industrial machinery, automated warehousing, healthcare equipment (MRI scanners), test benches, UAV s etc.
- Selling my clients interconnect solutions to OEMs and End Users with a focus on developing their OEM customer reach.
- Developing long term relationships with Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Engineering Managers, Project Managers and Production Managers.
- Contributing towards my clients long term growth expectations.
- Ensuring customers are aware of the complete solutions my client can offer.
- Meeting and exceeding sales forecasts for the region.
- Acting as a liaison between the customer and the relevant internal departments.
- Understanding client requirements and specifying appropriate value add solutions.
- Attending industry events, exhibitions and shows.
About You
It's essential you possess a minimum of 4-5 years solution sales experience selling electronic / electrical components to OEMs. My client are not interested in individuals who have mainly sold via distribution channels or candidates currently working for a generalist distributor as they ve found these types of profiles often lack solution sales experience. Specialist distributor background may be considered.
We are open to the type of electrical engineering products you have sold, however experience with Connectors, Cable Assemblies, Sensors, PLC s, Inverters, Drives, Industrial Computing, Switchgear, Motors, Asset Tracking (manufacturing) or Industry 4.0 / IoT / Smart Manufacturing technology would be highly advantageous.
It is essential all candidates are comfortable dealing with OEMs and End Users across a diverse range of industries.
Although a formal engineering qualification isn t required, it is essential all applicants are comfortable liaising with technical personnel and possess the following skills,
- Interest in connectivity, IoT or automation
- Customer focussed mindset with the ability to find solutions to problems.
- Hunter mentality with a desire to identify new prospects.
- Well organised, enthusiastic, and driven nature.
- Excellent relationship developer, able to operate autonomously.
- A consultative and solutions based sales approach.
- Willingness to travel and hold a full UK driving license.
