Our client, a forward-thinking Utilities and Energy technology company, are seeking a Meter Reader to join their team! The Meter Reader will be responsible for taking downloads from half-hourly electric meters, whilst providing courteous service to customers.

You must be able to drive as the role will be covering the Manchester, Rochdale, Bury area.

All training will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone from a delivery driving or field-based background who can drive and wants to join a supportive team. A company Vehicle will be provided.

Key Responsibilities for the Meter Reader

  • Download data from Meters
  • Undertake weekly checks on vehicle, including water, oil, tyre pressures etc. Report vehicle issues immediately.
  • Drive to site in a safe and professional manner and make every reasonable effort to find the correct site.
  • Liaise with onsite Reception/Security personnel. Quickly build good rapport, greeting and dealing with them in a professional and courteous manner.

Key background for the Meter Reader

  • Either Meter reading or delivery driving or field-based role background
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness and manual dexterity to undertake regular manual handling.
  • Prepared to work in all weathers, and in sometimes difficult or dirty conditions.
