Job Title: Senior Management Accountant Location : Manchester City Centre (Hybrid Working) The organisation is seeking a versatile and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their team at the head office in Manchester City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly/recently qualified accountant with up to 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to develop their career within a multi-national company. The role offers hybrid and flexible working, with 2 days per week in the office.
The Senior Management Accountant will be responsible for managing financial reporting, covering around 20 countries. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role involves overseeing complex financial tasks and management reporting, due to the diversity of the region. The successful candidate will support internal stakeholders by providing accurate and insightful financial analysis and will be expected to identify areas for improvement in reporting and control.
Key Responsibilities :
- Produce and manage accurate monthly management accounts and reporting.
- Analyse financial data to identify issues and explain variances from the budget or forecast.
- Prepare and manage cashflow forecasts, analysing movements and ensuring stakeholders are informed.
- Ensure balance sheets are reconciled and reviewed monthly, addressing any issues promptly.
- Support the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes.
- Identify and implement improvements in systems, reporting, and controls.
- Seek opportunities to maximise profit through cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
About the You : The ideal candidate will be a proactive and driven individual, comfortable working in a multi-national, multi-currency environment. The role would suit a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with 3-4 years of management accounting experience, preferably with some knowledge of the international region being supported.
Essential Skills :
- Experience in management accounting within a medium to large, multi-national company.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and experience handling large datasets.
- Ability to manage relationships with various internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of IFRS, financial and management reporting, and balance sheet controls.
- A self-starter with the ability to adapt to change.
- Experience managing a small team .
