Our Team

The Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) team sit within Financial Control and play a key role in providing support to Finance in embedding a strong risk management culture and in overseeing the 'first line of defence' on its execution of its responsibilities. This is a great time to join as we further develop risk and control capability within Finance.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing support to teams across Finance to ensure that the financial reporting control framework is appropriate, documented, and assessed to the required standards
  • Assisting in the ongoing development and delivery of a robust testing framework which ensures management attention is focussed upon achieving required standards, identifying when there is a need to improve overall control in response to identified risks, monitoring management responses to reports and ensuring that all appropriate actions are being taken
  • Planning and performing the testing of the reporting controls landscape ensuring processes are documented to a high standard, key controls are identified and then tested enabling reperformance as required
  • Ensuring that approved assurance and review activities are captured in line with the team's methodology
  • Delivering the planned assurance coverage to a recognised professional standard and demonstrating accountability for delivery and quality of assignments

We need you to have

  • External audit, internal audit and/or risk management experience
  • Experience in report writing and analysis
  • Track record of delivering an enhanced control environment and robust reporting
  • Substantial experience managing all levels of stakeholders, in particular senior stakeholders

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • ICAS or equivalent 3+ years Post qualified
  • Experience of financial reporting controls
  • Experience of end-to-end process mapping
  • Experience of controls testing in either internal audit, external audit or 1st line control teams
