The Deals &Financing team is a rapidly growing and global group. You will bejoining a team at the forefront of large internationalinfrastructure projects, global M&A transactions, high-profileforensic investigations, business valuations, corporaterestructuring and national creditor advisory services; all with theaim of adding value to clients by finding solutions to a wide rangeof financial issues.
The Due Diligence(Transaction Services) team forms part of the wider Deals &Financing team. Based in several regional offices, this nationalteam works on a number of and UK and cross-border transactionssupporting corporate investors, private equity teams and financeproviders. The role will therefore afford the opportunity to workwith this client base, developing deal and sectorknowledge.
JobPurposeThe role provides anopportunity to join the Due Diligence (Transaction Services)business unit in Manchester. As a Transaction Services Manager ORAssociate Director, you will be leading the financial due diligenceprocess, delivering high-quality reports to a range of corporate,private equity and banking clients.
Thesuccessful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their owncareer and work directly with the Leadership team. The team cultureallows all individuals to have an open line of communication withthe UK partner group, with a strong focus on teamwork,collaboration, innovation and creating opportunities fordevelopment. The TS national team has a strong record of developingand recognising talent through career progression that can befast-tracked, depending on your performance.
Therole will enable you to lead due diligence assignments(coordinating with tax and other specialists), and expand yourexternal client portfolio and network of relationships. Thecandidate will also have the opportunity to work as part of theNational TS team, whilst also maintaining a great degree offlexibility to personal circumstances.
The TSteam also works on a number of cross-border transactions; the rolewill therefore afford the opportunity to lead on internationaldeals working alongside a global clients and advisers.
Role &ResponsibilitiesThe role willoffer the opportunity to develop your own client portfolio andrelationships.
- Working directly topartners locally and nationally.
- Participatingin national resourcing and project delivery meetings with peers andsenior leadership.
- Co-ordinating and directingproposals - taking the lead on the overall proposition, scope andfee.
- Managing due diligence assignments andoverseeing the input from specialist teams.
- Coaching/training teams to deliver insightful analysisand prepare issues-focussed due diligence reports.
- Engaging with clients and communicating issues in atimely manner.
- Delivering confident and clearpresentations to the client and other stakeholders.
- Understanding and responding appropriately to clientneeds.
- Monitoring time spent against budgetand recovering unbudgeted time.
- Developingstrong working relationships with clients andintermediaries.
- Directing and supportingbusiness development initiatives - locally andnationally.
- Produce high quality work in linewith the Firm's policy and processes, meeting relevant regulatoryrequirements.
- Qualifiedto ACA (or equivalent).
- Financial duediligence experience in a similar role, covering a range oftransaction types (buy-side, sell-side, financing).
- Track record of developing and managing an externalnetwork of relationships, with examples of securing projectwork.
- Experience of supporting on competitiveproposals and pitches.
- Strong projectmanagement skills.
- Strong analytical andreporting skills.
- Excellent written and oralpresentation skills.
- The desire and ability todevelop self and others.
- Track record ofdeveloping new initiatives and methodologies.
- Experience of identifying issues through sound analysisand application of commercial acumen in all situations.
- Actively seeks to enhance expertise andknowledge.
