Details of this position:
This position is for a full time Construction Skills Training Manager in a prison education environment.
You will be responsible for managing, delivering, developing, and continually enhancing a programme of Level 1 and Level 2 accredited construction multi-skills and health and safety training.
- Overseeing outstanding operational delivery across programmes, with a focus on participant experience, achievement, and progression outcomes.
- Maintaining high-quality, consistent service delivery by tutors in alignment with awarding body standards.
- Building and sustaining effective relationships with prison staff, including officers and management.
- Meeting the requirements of commissioners, partners, employers, and other key stakeholders.
- Promoting and embedding organisational culture and values within the delivery team.
- Managing budgets effectively and leading forward-looking financial planning for the programme area.
Work schedule: Full time, 5 days per week
Salary scale: From 38,000 per annum
Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach. To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience of delivering training to different groups of adult learners.
- Experience of planning and developing innovative and flexible programmes of learning.
- Experience of providing training to develop practical construction or site-based skills, particularly multi-trades.
- Experience of training and mentoring disadvantaged adults.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 3 Award in Teaching and Learning / PTTLS or equivalent.
- Relevant vocational construction qualification.
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement or equivalent.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain the appropriate prison clearance before starting the role and maintain this throughout employment.
