Food Technology Teacher - SEN

Food Technology Teacher in SEN SchoolHays Education are seeking an experienced food technology teacher to join an SEN school in Manchester in the new year. You may be teaching from entry level to A Level students. About YouThe ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of subject expertise, resilience, humour, and creativity to engage a diverse group of learners, including those who are high achievers and others who may be struggling with motivation or have been out of mainstream education for extended periods. The teacher should feel confident in their subject area, as they may need to cover multiple topics within the same subject due to the ever-changing cohort. Ideally, they will have a second subject specialism or, at minimum, the ability to adapt flexibly to follow a Scheme of Work (SOW) or curriculum map for subjects outside their own specialism. Personal resilience and emotional stability are essential for working with young people who have experienced significant trauma and may need support when in crisis. Experience in SEN or SEMH settings is highly desirable, along with strong collaborative skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
