Reeson Education are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Secondary SEN school in the M5 area. This full-time Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone experienced in supporting pupils aged 11-16 with a variety of needs including ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and other additional needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and engage fully with the school curriculum. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support both in class and in small group sessions.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Work alongside teachers as a Teaching Assistant to deliver lessons and learning activities.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and other needs.
- Assist with behaviour management and support pupils to regulate emotions.
- Help prepare resources and maintain a positive, structured learning environment.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress as a Teaching Assistant.
- Encourage social development and independence among pupils.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents as a Teaching Assistant.
- Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils feel valued and supported.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will:
- Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar SEN role.
- Be patient, adaptable, and confident supporting pupils with complex needs.
- Possess excellent communication skills to liaise with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Have a passion for making a difference as a Teaching Assistant in a busy, supportive environment.
