Key responsibilities:

New Product Development

  • Develop formulations for applications in key categories
  • Liaise with appropriate development, supply chain & quality personnel to scale up / hand over to manufacturing.
  • Work within multifunctional teams to help ensure products are launched on time, meeting targets of cost & quality.
  • Develop methods to test and validate performance attributes. Write technical reports & claims support documentation.
  • Liaise with Marketing & Sales personnel to complete design briefs and translate product claims into performance attributes.
  • Maintain awareness of new technology in the marketplace and identify opportunities to apply to new products developments.

Product Maintenance (Value Added/Value Engineering Projects, Quality & Regulatory)

  • Liaise with Procurement & SC personnel to help support cost down initiatives
  • Remain up to date with developments in areas of legislation & HSE and ensure assigned development programs conform.
  • Proactively seek to reduce costs of products, components & processes.

Skills, experience, character and qualifications:

  • Friendly, collaborative and self motivated character
  • Degree level qualification in Chemistry or closely related subject
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years experience in a formulated products manufacturing environment, ideally within FMCG
  • Ideally experience within the homecare, personal care, surfactant, paints or coatings industries
