Tameside Council Locum Up to £39 per hour Children s Social Worker Safeguarding and Support Team Child in Need Child Protection Pre-Proceedings Court Work

Tameside Council is seeking an experienced Children s Social Worker to join their busy Safeguarding and Support Team. This service supports children and families through Child in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings and Court processes.

Role Overview: You will:

• Undertake assessments of children in need, including those in need of protection and cared-for children
• Coordinate service provision to meet identified needs
• Carry out statutory visits, reviews and direct work with children and families
• Engage families and carers in meaningful relationships to promote positive outcomes
• Support parents and carers in their role, ensuring children s safety and wellbeing
• Prepare and present reports for Panels, Court and other professional forums
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies in multi-agency safeguarding
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements
• Participate in supervision, training and CPD opportunities to maintain Social Work England registration

Working Arrangements:

• Office-based role, with some flexibility for home working (by agreement with the Team Manager)
• Full-time, 5 days per week preferred

What We re Looking For:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
• Strong post-qualified experience in Child in Need and Child Protection
• Confident in managing pre-proceedings and Court work
• Excellent assessment, communication and relationship-based practice skills
• Commitment to safeguarding children and promoting positive outcomes

Contract Details:

• Locum role
• Pay up to £39 per hour
• Based in Tameside
