About the RoleManchester City Council is committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support to some of the city s most vulnerable adults. Our City Wide Care Homes Team plays a vital role in supporting adults living in residential and nursing care settings across Manchester.
As a Social Worker in this team, you ll work with care home residents, families, and providers to ensure individuals receive the right care and support, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life wherever possible. This is a unique opportunity to use your professional skills to make a direct impact on the lives of adults in care settings, while contributing to Manchester s vision of creating a healthier, fairer city for all.
What You ll Do-
Undertake strength-based assessments and reviews with adults living in care homes.

Work in partnership with care providers, health professionals, and families to develop and implement effective support plans.

Safeguard vulnerable adults by identifying risks and ensuring the right protective measures are in place.

Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

Contribute to the transformation of adult social care in Manchester, helping shape services for the future.

Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.

Strong knowledge of adult social care legislation and safeguarding.

Experience of working with adults in care settings (residential or nursing) is desirable.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with residents, families, and professionals.
