Job Title: Wellbeing Counsellor Location: Manchester (Office-Based or Hybrid) Reporting to: Counselling Manager

The Role: As a Wellbeing Counsellor, you will provide immediate emotional support through the 24/7 helpline, conducting clinical assessments and managing risk in line with BACP guidelines. You will also provide structured video counselling, which can be counted towards BACP accreditation. Your role includes managing inbound/outbound calls, completing risk assessments, and supporting clients with solution-focused approaches.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Deliver telephone counselling and assess service users' needs
- Conduct clinical risk assessments and refer users to the appropriate services
- Provide support to clients dealing with distress or crisis
- Participate in training on trauma, suicide intervention, safeguarding, and more
- Manage structured caseloads, including solution-focused video counselling
- Ensure compliance with service level agreements for all communications
What You Bring:
- Diploma Level 4 in Counselling (min. 150 counselling hours)
- 12 months post-qualification experience
- Registered BACP membership (or equivalent)
- Experience with safeguarding and suicide intervention
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
