Job Title: Chemical Cleaning Technician Location: Hyde Salary: £13.50 per hour Hours: Full-time, 8:00 - 16:30 Company Overview: Our client is a specialist in metal restoration and surface treatment services, providing expert solutions to restore, clean, and protect metal components across a range of industries. With a strong reputation for precision, safety, and quality, they are expanding their Cleaning Department and are looking for a hands-on operative with a strong chemical or industrial processing background. Role Overview: The Chemical Cleaning Operative will play a key role in the restoration process of stainless steel and other metal components, preparing and treating materials using specialist chemical and mechanical cleaning methods. This role involves working in a wet, industrial environment using high-pressure jet wash equipment and chemical-based cleaning and passivation agents. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of COSHH regulations, experience handling industrial chemicals, and a background in metal finishing, chemical processing, or surface treatment. Key Responsibilities: - Carry out cleaning treatments on metal components to remove contaminants, scale, and surface imperfections. - Operate high-pressure jet wash and cleaning systems safely and efficiently. - Handle and prepare chemical solutions in line with COSHH and company safety procedures. - Ensure all work meets quality, environmental, and safety standards. - Inspect components before and after treatment to ensure surface quality and finish meet specification. - Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and process parameters. - Assist with the mixing, storage, and disposal of chemicals in accordance with environmental and safety regulations. - Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure operational readiness. - Work collaboratively with team members to ensure production targets and schedules are met. Essential: - Previous experience in a chemical processing, metal finishing, surface treatment, or industrial cleaning environment. - Sound knowledge and practical understanding of COSHH and safe chemical handling. - Experience working with high-pressure jet wash or spray equipment. - Ability to work effectively in a wet and physically demanding environment. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
