Job Title: Environmental, Health & safety Coordinator
Location: Manchester (with UK travel)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and proactive EHS Coordinator to join a dynamic team. This role involves working across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental legislation while driving continuous improvement in workplace practices.
Employment Type: Initially a 6month FTC
Salary: circa 38,000.00 + 550p/m car allowance + industry leading benefits

Key Responsibilities:

Developing and implementing EHS policies, procedures, and rules, ensuring they are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated effectively.

Conducting risk assessments for new processes and machinery, collaborating with departments to establish safe systems of work.

Providing practical and professional advice on EHS matters to colleagues and managers.

Supporting third-party audits, inspections, and liaising with external bodies and associations.

Leading monthly EHS meetings and monitoring performance through audits and inspections, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Managing accident investigations, maintaining reporting systems, and driving changes to prevent reoccurrence.

Coordinating occupational health and welfare programs in conjunction with the People & Culture Team.

Delivering in-house EHS training and mentoring colleagues to foster a culture of safety.
Your Skills & Experience

Qualifications: Level 4 in Occupational Health & Safety (mandatory), Level 4 in Environmental (desirable). IOSH/ COSHH

Experience: Prior experience within a health and safety department, ideally in the food and drink manufacturing / food wholesale sector.

Skills: Strong communication skills, proficiency in IT (Excel, EHS Management Information Systems), and a solid foundation in English and Maths.

Attributes: Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational abilities, and a commitment to promoting safe practices.
