Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Raw Materials Technologist to join one of clients in their Manchester or Sheffield office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raw Material Specifications: Create, review, and maintain up-to-date raw material specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers to verify ingredient quality, obtain technical documentation, and address any material-related queries.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all raw materials comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., food safety, allergens, sustainability certifications).
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with the QA team to resolve non-conformance issues related to raw materials and contribute to supplier audits.
  • Stock Evaluation: Conduct regular inspections of raw materials in storage to ensure they meet quality benchmarks and are stored in optimal conditions.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve raw material-related issues in collaboration with production, procurement, and R&D teams.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of technical specifications, certification documents, and testing results for all raw materials.
  • Innovation Support: Provide support to the R&D team by sourcing and assessing new ingredients for product development.
  • Sustainability: Support company sustainability initiatives by evaluating supplier practices and recommending eco-friendly alternatives.

About You:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a raw materials, QA, or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., HACCP)
