All the key developments planned across Greater Manchester this week
A huge housing development, a city centre park and an adventure golf course are the big plans tabled this week.
In Trafford the former headquarters for Greater Manchester Police could soon see 750 new homes built there. The joint venture between Trafford Council and the GMCA would see the massive 9.5-acre site in Stretford transformed.
Over in Middleton, what is currently a driving range could soon become much more now plans for an adventure golf course have been mooted. The Bowlee Park Driving Range would also be upgraded to have an additional tier of golf bays.
The redevelopment of the central retail park in the city centre of Manchester is also moving forward, with plans for green oasis set to be tabled next May. It is expected that numerous civil service departments will call the area home.

Manchester
Major update on new Manchester city centre park as size confirmed for first time
New images have revealed how 10 dilapidated acres could become a green oasis – Manchester city centre's proposed new park.
The park is planned for the former Central Retail Park on Great Ancoats Street, which closed down in 2019. Owned by the council after a £37 million sale two years previously, the space has been left to ruin after plans to use the existing retail hub's car park as a pay-and-display were cancelled following a backlash.
It's thought numerous civil service departments will call the digital campus home, with a full planning application expected to come in due course after the GPA bought half of the Central Retail Park land from the council in May.
Oldham
There are no new significant planning applications submitted to Oldham Council this week.
Rochdale
New adventure golf course could look planned for driving range
A new golf adventure course could soon be coming to Middleton.
Bowlee Park Driving Range currently serves its customers solely as a driving range, but their plan is to become much more than that. A new covered adventure golf course, a second floor of driving range bays and an indoor golf area are part of the plans to upgrade the offer.
The site, off Heywood Old Road, has an ambition to provide the best facilities to help golfers of all levels to improve and enjoy golf practice, according to the planning statement.
Salford
More new homes planned next to Little Hulton waste centre
A housing estate next to a waste centre in Little Hulton could be about to expand.
Salford council approved plans to build 71 affordable houses on Manchester Road West in April, despite concerns about the smell coming from the nearby waste firm, and the location off the A6. The plans were lodged by Stonebond Properties, Great Places Housing Group, and James Industrial Limited, and included a children's play area located near the boundary with the waste recycling centre.
New plans have been lodged to prepare more land at the estate for 'comprehensive redevelopment' under phase two of the scheme. The initial planning application in April stated that phase two of the plans could include up to 50 new houses, taking the total size of the development to more than 120 homes if approved.
Stockport
There are no new significant planning applications submitted to Stockport Council this week.
Tameside
A carpet retailer plans to expand it's warehouse complex
Flair rugs have submitted plans to replace their existing warehouse buildings in Hollingworth, create an extension as well as additional car parking space.
Their Etherow Works site off Water Lane would see some of its buildings demolished to make way for the new development, if plans are approved by Tameside Council. The applicant, Flair Flooring Supplies Limited, believes the extension will create new employment opportunities in the area both during construction and upon completion.
This could also mean continued growth and expansion will contribute positively to the local economy by supporting suppliers, service providers, and other businesses in the area.
Trafford
750 homes set to be built on former GMP HQ site
A deal has been struck which will see the development of around 750 new homes on the site of the former Greater Manchester Police headquarters in Stretford.
A new joint venture agreement has been struck between international property development company FEC (Far East Consortium), Trafford council and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) to redevelop the 9.5-acre site. The scheme is aiming to provide 25 per cent affordable housing, in line with the council and the GMCA's joint commitment to deliver more good-quality affordable, low-carbon homes, including through the regeneration of brownfield land.
It also forms part of Trafford council's newly adopted Civic Quarter Area Action Plan for Stretford.
Wigan
Plan for 19 homes and land next to historic pub
Plans have been submitted to convert land next to a historic but disused pub in Wigan into an estate with 19 homes.
A prior application to transform the Grade II-listed Pagefield Hotel on Gidlow Lane into a complex of 10 apartments has been approved. Manchester-based ICI Developments Ltd now wants to build 19 more homes in three separate blocks on land at the rear of the former pub, built in 1902.
The pub closed several years ago because of a downturn in business, a planning statement from Neil Pike Architects of Bolton says.
