Job Title SALES MANAGER - TIMBER MERCHANT

Job Description

Our client is leading Importer & Distributor of Timber and Timber Products and due to expansion they are seeking a SALES MANAGER to lead and develop their Sales Team to promote their high end Timber and Timber Products West .This role requires an experienced SALES MANAGER that has comprehensive knowledge of the Timber / Merchant UK Markets and the desire to develop & grow sales through existing & new customers.

Reporting to: BRANCH MANAGER

As SALES MANAGER your role will be to oversee the day-day management of your Sales Team , ensure your Team achieve sales targets and volume. You will be responsible for pro-actively driving sales growth by continually look to build and maintain relationships with an exciting sectors including Contactors , Manufacturers , Joinery Companies , Fit out Companies, Shopfitters and the Construction Sector.

Key Responsibilities of SALES MANAGER

  • Drive sales to ensure that your Team achieve sales targets, volume & margin targets
  • Staff training & development
  • Stock Management
  • Liaise with supply chain team & supplier
  • Quoting and costing customer requirements
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements, research accounts, identify key players
  • Maintain & expand your data base
  • Create monthly reports for the Management Team

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required of SALES MANAGER

  • Face to face selling and negotiation skills
  • Experience within the Timber / Timber Products
  • Strong presenting skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Effective communication skills
  • Customer focused with sound commercial skills.
  • Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook
