A local authority in Manchester is looking to recruit 2 Occupational Therapists / Senior Assessment Officers L1 (Blue Badge Assessors) to join their MEAP team. The role involves assessing citizens for eligibility under the "subject to further assessment" criteria for Blue Badge provision, focusing on both physical and non-visible (hidden) disabilities. Main Duties:

• Conduct thorough assessments for Blue Badge eligibility, considering both visible and non-visible disabilities.
• Evaluate applications against eligibility criteria with accuracy and sensitivity.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with applicants regarding assessment outcomes.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in accordance with local policies and data protection laws.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to support applicants and streamline processes.
• Contribute to continuous service improvements through feedback and sharing best practices.

• Experience in health or social care settings, preferably with assessment responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Blue Badge eligibility criteria and disability legislation preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS (we can assist).
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable.
