Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Duty Solicitor to join our expanding Criminal Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional looking to make a real impact in a supportive and dynamic legal team.The Role:As a Duty Solicitor, you will provide advice, assistance, and representation to clients who are subject to police investigations or have been arrested. You will be required to attend police stations and represent clients during the investigation and interview stages, ensuring their legal rights are upheld.Key responsibilities include:Providing 24/7 on-call police station representation.Attending clients at the police station and providing advice under the Police Station Advice Scheme.Preparing cases for court, including reviewing evidence and liaising with clients and experts.Offering legal advice on criminal matters and representing clients in Magistrates' and Crown Courts.Maintaining case files and meeting compliance requirements set by the firm and regulatory bodies.Working closely with other members of the legal team to achieve the best outcomes for clients.About You:To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified Duty Solicitor with the following:Accredited as a Duty Solicitor with the Law Society's Criminal Accreditation Scheme.Previous experience working in a criminal law firm and attending police stations.Strong knowledge of criminal law and procedure.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.Ability to provide high-quality legal advice in a fast-paced environment.A strong commitment to client care and delivering the best possible service.What We Offer:A competitive salary package.A supportive and friendly team environment.Access to ongoing professional development and training.Flexibility and a good work-life balance.Opportunities for career progression within the firm.A firm that values diversity, inclusion, and work-life balance.If you're passionate about criminal law and want to make a positive impact on your clients' lives, we would love to hear from you.
