ARC team (Attendance issues) This role is working with pupils that have additional needs on top of their SEND statement. They are not engaging in school life and have not attended school properly. Your role here is working more with the vulnerable pupils in the school, those at most risk and those who need the most support. This school deals with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) from KS2 to KS4 all students have a statement for SEN needs due to behaviour or their additional learning needs. You would be working with children with various learning disabilities and need extra support in the classroom. If you are looking towards a career in Education Psychology or teaching, then this is a perfect opportunity! You must be prepared to support children with SEN, and therefore provide an environment where they can reach their potential in all areas. Also, you should be able to build rapports with the children and support their social and behavioural needs.
