Classroom Based SEMH TA - Recent Graduates wanted! South Manchester Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in a Secondary SEMH provision in Wythenshawe. The school provides a vibrant and supportive environment for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. These young people will have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to help them to engage with the curriculum. Your role will be to provide mentorship and some academic support to Key stage 3 and 4 students. Ideally you will be drawing on still you have, from a background or studies in the following areas; health & social care, psychology, youth work, sports coaching. This school deals with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) from KS2 to KS4 all students have a statement for SEN needs due to behaviour or their additional learning needs. You would be working with children with various learning disabilities and need extra support in the classroom. You must be prepared to support children with SEN, and therefore provide an environment where they can reach their potential in all areas. Also, you should be able to build rapports with the children and support their social and behavioural needs.
